Earth Day
On Thursday 22nd April - we recognised Earth Day with a whole school assembly and a range of activities across the school.
On Thursday, children across year groups marked ‘Earth Day’ by taking part in a range of activities to raise awareness of climate change and to protect the environment. This year’s theme is ‘Restore our Earth’. Year 3 kicked off the day with a Zoom assembly, sharing facts about deforestation, brilliant artwork and their promises to help the earth. In PE, children worked together to create an Earth day dance. Year 4 learnt about the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and produced their own placards with pictures and slogans. Year 5 and 6 discussed the importance of pollinators and had fun making wildflower seed bombs. We hope this day has given children the opportunity to think about their role in helping to protect the planet.
