Children transition to Sprowston Junior school from many different infant schools across Sprowston and Norwich. We liaise with all the different schools to ensure that the children have a smooth transition and are comfortable and ready for their next key stage before they start school in September. We welcome the children into the school on a number of occasions, as well as 'buddying' them up with a Year 5 child - giving them a buddy whom looks out for them and welcomes them warmly to the school. 

When children are ready to transition to Key Stage 3, we again work closely with all the high schools to make sure the children are ready to make the next step on their learning journey and are feeling confident and comfortable about their next step. This often includes taster sessions at the high schools and welcoming high school teachers into the junior school to start to help the children build their understanding of the changes ahead.
