HEADTEACHER'S MESSAGE
We've had a really positive week in school which sets us up nicely for an excellent academic year ahead. I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new parents/carers and to say 'welcome back' to everyone else! I hope all families were able to get some time together over the last 6 weeks and enjoy the summer.
Like always, we want to work in partnership with you as the school year progresses. Please do get in touch with your child's class teacher or a senior leader if you have a worry or a query about anything.
The Year 3 children have been excellent this week and tell me that they've thoroughly enjoyed their start at junior school. We look forward to a wonderful year of learning with them.
I'd like to take this opportunity to pay our respects to Queen Elizabeth II, what an amazing service she has given to the country. She has certainly been a wonderful figurehead for the country and the commonwealth over such a long period of time. We have talked about her life today a little today, and I'm sure we will do more next week. It is an important historical period and one the children will want to talk about and make sense of. Please do let us know if your child is worried or upset by yesterday's news, so we can help them deal with their emotions and worries. We will share any further news that may affect schools in due course, but school is open all next week.
We have some dates for your diary below and will be adding to them in the next week or so, so please do check to see what is coming up.
We have some tired children in school today! I hope all get time to recharge over the weekend.
Kind regards
Matt Walton, Headteacher
