We’ve really the last day of term with the talent show kicking the day off and giving us a great start to the morning.  Well done to all the performers - they were all impressive and showed confidence in their performances. We also enjoyed the singing clubs performance for Mr Brown - lovely singing and I know he was humbled by it. 

We look back on a full week with plenty going on. The Year 3 children were very well-behaved at the theatre and I hope they enjoyed the experience. They certainly seemed to!  It was also nice to see the Year 4 and Year 6 children doing really well in the Indoor Athletics competitions. 

The friends' disco last night was quite a hot affair! The children seemed to really enjoy the evening once again, and I would like to thank all those who helped last night and particularly Mrs Hartley and Mrs Lewis for organising it once more. 

I hope everyone enjoys the Easter break. The children have worked hard this term and a re-charge is definitely in order for staff and pupils. We come back to the summer term and plenty to look forward to.

'Unexpected Twist' 

Year 3 had a wonderful time this week watching Michael Rosen's 'Unexpected Twist' at the Theatre Royal in Norwich. The show was a mixture of the tale of Oliver Twist and a new story about a girl called Shauna. There was singing, dancing, an amazing set and bright lights - just what going to the theatre is all about! There was no orchestra or backing music for this performance - all the music and sound effects were created by the actors. Year 3 all loved hearing music and sounds they made and the beat-boxing was incredible. They were even treated to a special one-off beat-boxing performance at the end of the show.

Year 4 Carnival

Year 4 had a carnival celebration earlier in the week and welcomed Zoe Ramsden into school. Zoe led the children through a fun day of activities. The celebration was linked to the work Year 4 had been doing in PE on Brazillian dancing.  

Today we had a carnival. It was amazing. We did different rhythm and played different instruments. When we had a procession we wore masks and were covered in colour. We went around the room singing our song and people sang, danced and clapped. When all the different sounds were put together it was a huge noisy algorithm!  Gioia 

Sprowston's Got Talent Final 

Our Year 6 House Captains have been busy over the last few weeks organising THE event of the year. The time finally arrived for Sprowston see just how much talent there is. It was an amazing morning of singing, dancing, joke telling and even Rubiks cube solving. What a variety of talent we have at our school.

All the acts were amazing and, despite some pre-show jitters, got on the stage and showed just how talented they are. Kicking things off was Zariya with some udderly-amazing jokes (all her jokes were cow themed and must have rubbed of on me!). After that we had some fast and frantic Rubiks cube solving action from Theo and Dexter. Next up was Kaja with her version of the Polish song Nic Dwa Razy - it was great to hear the song sung in Polish in front of our live audience. Next on the mic was Carissa with an outstanding version of 'Naughty' from Matilda. Then we had some card tricks from the magnificent magicians Kian and Jack - with some help from Charlie (3W) and Mr Brown. The penultimate act of the morning was Jess with some wonderful tap dancing and finishing things off was Indigo with some breathtaking gymnastics.

The audience was incredible. They cheered, laughed, supported and most of all encouraged their friends throughout the whole show.

A special mention has to go to pour fabulous House Captains for all their hard work organising this event. They had done an incredible job and shown that while they weren't on the stage themselves, that they also have incredible talents.

Year 3 Easter Cafe 

Last week Year 3 held an Easter Cafe and shared a version of the Easter story before giving some renditions of some of the music they have been learning this year – the parents/carers even got a chance to join in!

Parents/carers then joined the children in Year 3 to make Easter baskets and have a go at some Easter maths activities.

Indoor Athletics Competition 

Year 4 and Year 6 took part in a Sporthall Athletics tournament at the UEA. It was an extremely exciting and fun event and all the children gave their all and represented the school fantastically. We are still awaiting the Year 4 results, however the Year 6 team managed a 3rd place finish out of 10 competing teams, which was a great result. A big well done to all the children who took part!
